With the advent of a new job (shortlived, though at the time I couldn't have guessed), I splurged on a new camera! Replaced my Canon point-and-shoot from 2006 with a Panasonic DMZ-FZ40. It's, essentially, a glorified point-and-shoot that's more compact than a full DSLR. And I love it! Very lightweight, ridiculously long battery life, amazing 3 inch LCD display, and so many features I haven't even found them all yet. Currently my only issues are downloading RAW photos (I haven't installed the included software, and my computer won't read them without it, so I haven't been shooting in RAW), and likewise with the high-def video format - cannot v

I'm typing this from the Bay Area, my longtime home. I miss it dearly. Right now I'm on my last spring break, and so far it's been just what I needed. We started in Hermosa Beach, and I got some great pics I'm really proud of. I also JUST found a new feature on my camera, "color accent." It highlights everything of a certain color. I've been SO jealous of people whose cameras could do that... turns out MY camera could do that... and I've had it since 2006. I'm such an idiot sometimes. Again, I can't sleep. Surprise, surprise! I want to write a poem but I can't quite grasp one yet... I'm feeling creative but kind of lacking an outlet. So many things going on in my head! Summer's ending. Finals are this week, then band camp... argh... so not prepared (for either). Technology is letting me down but that's material for another rant. The apartment is looking the best it's ever looked, though, which is great! Roomie and I had a nice dinner tonight.
